I am hoping that someone here knows of a sound editing program (for the PC) that is accessible to Jaws. For example, if I recorded myself making a speech and want to get rid of unnecessary pauses and mistakes--that is the kind of program I need. Can anyone help? Thanks
Elc,
I use Sound Forge for my sound editing needs in the studio, but it costs $400. There is also a program out there called Gold Wave, www.goldwave.com, which is very good for under $40! Send me a private message if you're interested in that one.

You can use sound recorder. It comes with windows, and it's free! I use it to prepair my broadcasts, and it works fine! The only problem is that you have to record in 2 min intervols, but aside from that, it's great! You can even adjust the format and quality of your recording! And, it's accessible with jaws. You should turn off the speech by doing insert+v, end, and space-bar. This will mute the synthosizer. When you're ready to record, do insert+f8, and press the letter r once. This will get you on the record button. Then, press enter, and start your recording!
May sound recorder be of great use to you!
hum! got it. What you are looking for is APH studio recorder. Download the beta version because the demo don't let you save files. Is for proffesionals but is better than the sound recorder. It pauses exactly when you tell it to. You can also calibrate word spoken audio or sentence parametters. Find it at www.aph.org
U know, I have sound forge sitting here, but it's pretty anoying that FS wants 80 dollars for the tutorial of jaws and sound forge. Anyone know of anything cheeper?
